Community Action Center
The community Action Center is the constituent service arm of the Comptroller’s office. It is the main point of contact for the office and the principal liaison to the public, mayoral agencies, federal, state, and local authorities.
Since its inception in 1990, the Community Action Center provides information and advocacy to New Yorkers that has facilitated resolutions to complaints about inadequate or lack of municipal service – from potholes to sanitation pick-ups, water and sewer charges disputes, pension payments, parking tickets and more. The Community Action Center helps to increase responsiveness and resolve problems that impact the quality of life for individuals, families, and neighborhoods in the City.
New Yorkers seeking assistance navigating City government can tap the resources of the community Action Center team, who know how to maneuver through bureaucracy quickly and effectively.
Please call, fax, email, write, or visit our office for a personal consultation with a Community Action Center staff member. The unit has resolved hundreds of thousands of cases, and we can help you too.
