The Comptroller is responsible for auditing all matters relating to City finances. The Audit Bureaus audit the operations and programs of City agencies and private entities doing business with the City to determine whether funds are being expended or utilized efficiently and economically, and whether the desired goals, results, or benefits or agency programs are being achieved.
Comptroller Liu has pledged to vigorously utilize the power of audit (both financial and operational) to ensure accountability and transparency in City agencies.
