New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. announced today that Andrew M. Joseph will serve as Deputy Comptroller for Budget. Joseph will assume his new duties on April 15, 2002.

"It is with great pleasure that I welcome Mr. Joseph to the Comptroller's Office," said Comptroller Thompson. "His experience as a Deputy Director of the State's Financial Control Board will be a valuable asset to the City of New York in these challenging fiscal times."

In his new position, Mr. Joseph will monitor New York City's expense and capital budgets and prepare analyses of the city's fiscal condition.

"I am honored and proud to have this opportunity to serve the people of New York City," Mr. Joseph said about his appointment.
