Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. donated hundreds of toys this holiday season during a fourth annual holiday drive to collect gifts for children in the city.
“New Yorkers have shown the spirit of giving by donating gifts to help children in need this holiday season,” Thompson said.
The drive drew donations of 1,500 toys including dolls, trucks, building blocks, footballs and stuffed animals. In addition to employees with the Comptroller's Office, key contributors to Thompson's toy drive were Banco Popular, Betz Mitchell & Associates, Consolidated Edison, Goodwill Industries, Hispanic Federation, Keyspan, South Bronx Board of Trade and Youngland Toy Stores.
The toys were distributed among schools and organizations through out the city.
