NEW YORK, NY - New York City Comptroller John C. Liu will host a celebration of Caribbean-American Heritage Month on Tuesday, June 22, 2010.
Comptroller Liu stated: "This celebration will be an incredible opportunity for New Yorkers to rejoice and reflect on the rich history and tremendous achievements of the Caribbean-American community. Together, let’s honor all those from the past and present who have contributed to the vitality and success of New York City. Let us also remember the many who were affected by the earthquake in Haiti and renew our commitment to helping the rebuilding efforts."
The celebration will honor:
RICOT DUPUY – Manager of Radio Soleil D’Haiti
AUDREY PHILLIPS-CAESAR – Board Member of the Caribbean Women’s Health Association
MACK SCOTT – Captain and Manager of Pan Sonatas
RALPH TAMESH – President of the Indo-Caribbean Federation.
Members of this year’s Host Committee include: Caribbean American Center of New York; Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Caribbean Women’s Health Association; Society for the Preservation of Indo-Caribbean Culture; Voice of Haitian Americans, Inc.; and West Indian American Day Carnival Association.
