Doing Business With the Comptroller's Office
The New York City Comptroller is dedicated to creating programs and initiatives to increase business opportunities for minority-owned and women-owned businesses in the City.
In addition to the Comptroller’s Minority-Owned and Women-Owned Broker-Dealer Program which encourages the Comptroller’s investment managers who provide investment services on behalf of the City’s public pension systems to execute trades with firms on the Comptroller’s list of minority-owned and women-owned broker-dealers, the Comptroller has embarked on several other initiatives designed to promote increased competition and a more diverse pool of firms for potential business opportunities with the Comptroller’s Office:
- Emerging Managers Initiative – Public Markets
- Emerging Managers Initiative – Private Markets and Real Estate
- Developing Managers Program
All investment management and advisory services firms, as well as law firms, accountants, auditors and other professional service providers interested in these programs or in competing for other contracts with the Comptroller’s Office are strongly encouraged to apply to the Department of Small Business Services for certification as a Minority/Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) at www.nyc.gov/getcertified.
