Center for Anti-Violence Education, The
Self-defense (verbal and physical) and martial arts for women, transgender people, children, teens. Award-winning, non-competitive programs at the center develop skills, knowledge, awareness to enable participants to heal from, prevent and counter violence. Sliding fee and free childcare available. Also travel throughout NYC to teach LGBTQ groups.

24 hours. Counseling, advocacy, support services.

Gay Officers Action League (GOAL)
Fraternal organization for professionals now/ formerly in law enforcement/ criminal justice. Members include (but are not limited to) police, courts, corrections, probation, federal law enforcement officers, DA's , judges. Supporters/ associate members (FOG). Advocates for members, social justice, empowering community.

Hate Crime Task Force
Citywide team responsible for investigating all hate crimes and related incidents. Reports directly to NYPD's Chief of Dectectives.

Just Detention International
A nonprofit health and human rights organization that seeks to end sexual abuse in all forms of detention. The organization has three core goals: to hold government officials accountable for prisoner rape; to change ill-informed public attitudes about sexual violence behind bars; and to ensure that those who have survived such abuse get the help they need. Anyone who has experienced any form of sexual harm in custody-including sexual harassment, sex in exchange for protection, sexual assault, etc-is encourage to contact us for support and a packet of information and materials. Prisoners can write to JDI via confidential, legal mail by addressing their letter to Cynthia Totten, Attorney at Law, CA Attorney Reg# 199266 at the address above.

National organization committed to achieving full recognition of civil rights of LGBT people and those with HIV, through impact litigation, education, public policy work.

Supports diversity programs in education, helps youth organizations establish environments where young people can feel safe and be themselves.

NYC Gay & Lesbian Anti-Violence Project (AVP)
Free, confidential counseling, advocacy, accompaniment, information and referrals for survivors of anti-LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS-related violence including hate violence, sexual violence, and domestic/intimate partner violence, . 24 hour bilingual English/Spanish hotLine.

Rashawn Brazell Memorial Fund
Aims to establish sustainable tribute that promotes critical thought about the impact of violence and intolerance, particularly on queer communities of African decent. Seeks to empower future generations of activists and scholars by providing financial support and mentoring opportunities.

Right Rides
Organizes volunteers to operate a fleet of up to 6 cars donated by Zipcar Friday and Saturday nights from 11:59pm-3am, in 45 NYC neighborhoods. Driving teams can only drive women and LGBTQ individuals home. Builds safer communities by ending gender based harassment and sexual assault through community organizing and offering direct service, safety, education and advocacy programs
