NEW YORK, NY – City Comptroller John C. Liu made the following statement about the City Council’s vote to pass the “Prevailing Wage Act”:

“Today’s vote by the City Council expands the universe of workers covered by prevailing wage and empowers the Comptroller’s office to do even more to protect the working men and women of this City.  The legislation helps to ensure shared prosperity and reverse the widening wealth gap in the City.”
