Emma L. Bowen Community Service Center
Based in Harlem, the Emma Bowen Center provides mental health, addiction treatment, and advocacy and connections to needed services such as physicians, entitlements and benefits, food stamps, and legal services. Established more than three decades to help combat the stigma of mental health illness in the Black community, the Bowen Center has become a beacon for all individuals and communities in need, but especially the city’s most vulnerable, who are seeking a safe and supportive place.
