Comptroller Scott M. Stringer Statement On Governor Andrew Cuomo’s State Of The State Address

Governor Cuomo’s 2015 Opportunity Agenda is an ambitious blueprint for improving the lives of all New Yorkers. This budget invests in the infrastructure and human capital needed to create an economy of shared prosperity across the Empire State.

Building out high-speed broadband is essential to growing New York’s economy. Expanding tax credits that encourage youth employment and boosting need-based financial aid for students will create new onramps of opportunity for our young people. And supporting the export economy and setting higher goals for M/WBE utilization will leverage New York’s diversity to improve our neighborhoods and grow jobs in every community.

I look forward to working with the Governor and the Legislature to chart a course toward equal opportunity for all New Yorkers.
