Statement from NYC Comptroller Scott M. Stringer Regarding the Construction Safety Act

August 16, 2017

(New York, NY) – New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer released the following statement on the Construction Safety Act:

“There is real danger in construction work, and real danger to those who are taking our city to new heights. Safety matters more than ever. Because too many have died on the job, children will grow up without parents, husbands and wives will grow old without their spouses, and families have suffered. These are matters of life and death. That is why I, along with 46 City Council sponsors, stand behind the Construction Safety Act. We have an obligation to do everything possible to prevent tragedy. It is the right thing to do.”
