Statement Of New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer On The Naming Of The Staten Island Ferry

January 28, 2016

“Army Staff Sergeant Michael Ollis was a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice to save the life of a fellow soldier. I can’t think of a more fitting tribute to Michael than to have our City proudly place his name on the very first of a new fleet of our iconic Staten Island ferries. Last summer, I was proud to join with my fellow New Yorkers in calling for this honor. Today, I would like to thank Mayor de Blasio for making this a reality.”
