Request for Proposals for Outside Counsel Legal Services in Connection with New York City Retirement Systems’ Asset Management Private Market Investments

The Office of Comptroller of the City of New York (“Comptroller’s Office”) is seeking to engage appropriately qualified law firms to provide legal services on an “as needed” basis and serve as the outside investment counsel to New York City Retirement Systems (each a “System” and collectively, the “Systems”) and the Comptroller’s Office in connection with a broad range of private market investments to be made by the Systems during the contract term.  Two pools of firms will be established through this Request for Proposals, each with a focus on set asset classes:

• Contractor Pool 1: Private Equity, Opportunistic Fixed Income, and Real Estate and Infrastructure (“real assets”)
• Contractor Pool 2: Hedge Funds

Selected vendors will be awarded master agreements; any work assigned will be done through a competitive task order process, which is described further in the RFP.
