Claims Dashboard

Under the New York City Charter Section 93(i), the Comptroller is responsible for resolving claims on behalf of the City. This dashboard examines claims filed against and on behalf of the City of New York and outlines trends by claim type across City agencies.

Fiscal Year: A Fiscal Year covers the period of July 1st to June 30th. For example, Fiscal Year 2024 covers the period from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024.

Please note for the Settlement Type of “Uncategorized”, it means that no settlement method was recorded or that the payment is a judgment, expense, and/or interest. Please see the Methodology section for additional information.
