Statement Of New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer On Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Executive Actions Banning Coverage Of Conversion Therapy

“Banning coverage of dangerous conversion therapy will have an immediate impact on the health and safety of New York’s young LGBT population. There’s no place in the Empire State for these so-called ‘therapies’ and the regulations announced today will ensure that no adolescent gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender New Yorker will have to endure such an intervention in the State of New York. Thank you Governor Cuomo for taking action for greater equality and acceptance on behalf of New York’s LGBT youth.
