August 2013 Monthly Public Finance Wrap Up
August was a quiet month for City bond sales. We closed on the $1 billion General Obligation (GO) bond issue sold in late July and are gearing up for the fall. The sales calendar picks up again in September with both GO and New York City Municipal Water Finance Authority (NYW) bond sales planned.
Comptroller’s Website
During the month of August, the Comptroller’s office unveiled a new agency-wide website. The Bureau of Public Finance’s Investor Relations section has been redesigned to provide even more detail, transparency and links for our investors. Information has been organized into six main categories. We invite you to explore the new website and give us your feedback. To make access to our website easier, we have also linked www.buynycbonds.com to our investor relations home page.
Looking Ahead
We anticipate New York City GO and NYW bond sales in September. Details on the transactions will be announced closer to the respective sale dates.
Information on how to buy New York City bonds is available on the Comptroller’s website. You can subscribe on our website to receive sale announcements and other City publications and reports. The New York State Comptroller also maintains a website with a preliminary forward calendar for major State and City issuers.
At present, this monthly wrap-up is posted on our website, but not distributed electronically to subscribers. Please check the Investor Relations website at the beginning of each month for the wrap-up of the prior month’s activities. You may still subscribe and start receiving this wrap-up by email in the future.
As always, we appreciate your interest in New York City bonds. Please contact us if you have any questions or suggestions as to how we can improve our investor communications.
