Deferred Compensation Plan

Health Benefits Program

The City of New York and the Municipal Unions have cooperated in choosing health plans and designing the benefits for the City’s Health Benefits Program.

 

Office Accomplishments So Far

  • Reasserted the Office’s role as the City’s independent fiscal watchdog through updated analysis of the City’s financial outlook and budget projections, becoming one of the first voices to publicly raise concerns about the City’s emerging structural deficit and the need for a more disciplined long-term fiscal strategy.
  • Launched the NYC Housing Investment Initiative, a landmark $4 billion investment harnessing pension capital to dramatically expand and preserve affordable housing in NYC while also providing sound investment returns for the NYC Pension Funds.
  • Settled five prevailing wage cases, recovering over $1 million in back wages for New York City workers.
  • Convened nonprofit leaders to confront delayed contract payments and advance structural solutions to the City’s longstanding contracting and payment challenges.
  • Released the annual M/WBE procurement report and hosted the Emerging Managers Conference to expand opportunities in both City contracting and institutional investing.
  • Advanced shareholder accountability actions involving PalantirAT&T, and Starbucks on behalf of the City’s pension funds.
  • Laying the groundwork for a technology modernization strategy aimed at improving transparency, efficiency, and service delivery across City government.
  • Convened the NYCHA Resident Audit Committee to hear directly from resident leaders about their concerns.
  • Released two reports from the nationally recognized audit team, a Review of the Small Business Forward Initiative, aimed at strengthening and improving efforts to ensure small businesses prosper and thrive in New York City, and a report of NYC Schools’ Food Donation and Composting Efforts, calling for increased efforts to reduce food waste in our public schools.
  • Conducted citywide listening sessions, convening roundtables with community, faith, and nonprofit leaders in each borough to inform the Office’s strategic plan.
  • As part of Earth Day, released a new report on our tree canopy, a report on progress towards our carbon neutrality goals, and updated our climate dashboard.
